The Morning Cup

A french press makes an exceptional cup of coffee in the morning. I always fill mine with at least 2 inches of a dark grind and violently boiling water. Let it sit for at least 4 minutes before slowly pressing down.

The Illy brand always delivers a solid cup of coffee. Smooth is not the goal here. You're looking for a kick which can be subdued to taste via the right amount of cream and sugar to taste. Done right, this is the quintessential way to start your day.
